Celebrating Excellence: 2024 Healthcare Project of the Year

Big news—we’re honored to share that 556-21-701 N Chicago EHRM – West Campus has won the 2024 WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award for Healthcare Project of the Year!

This project is part of a $60 million effort to replace all telecommunications infrastructure across the 94-acre West Campus, covering 45 buildings. It’s a massive undertaking, and this award recognizes the outstanding engineering, planning, and execution that made it possible.

Leadership, Innovation, and Impact

A key reason for this project’s success? Strong leadership and expert execution. Under the direction of Andrew Stevens, the design phase stayed on track, and construction was awarded within 5% of cost projections—a remarkable achievement. Thanks to this precision and efficiency, this facility was the only one in the nation excluded from the April 2023 program-wide stop and reset.

And now, the hard work has paid off with this prestigious industry recognition.

What’s Next?

With the success of this major effort, in September 2023, Spur Design, LLC was selected as the architecture indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) firm, with Andrew continuing as project manager. Since then, several key projects have been awarded under this contract, including:

• Expanding Police Dispatch
• Revising the Main Hospital Entrance
• Interior Demolition & Abatement for Building 1
• Roof Replacement

And this is just the beginning—more projects are on the horizon, all aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing healthcare environments.
